OUR APPROACH

Connection to Self. Connection to Community.

We are not meant to move through life alone. Healing, growth, and transformation happen in connection—first with ourselves, then with the world around us. When we listen to our bodies, we begin to understand our rhythms, needs, and truth. Rooting into that deep self-connection naturally expands outward, helping us build relationships, share space, and find belonging in the collective.

Body Rhythms exists because both of these connections matter. The individual and the collective. The personal and the communal. We heal ourselves, and in doing so, we contribute to the healing of the whole.

THE WORK

At Body Rhythms, we offer a range of experiences to help you reconnect with your body, your rhythms, and your community. Whether through individual therapy, group sessions, or workshops, our offerings blend therapeutic modalities with movement, dance meditation, and somatic exploration. Each experience creates space for deep self-awareness, personal growth, and collective healing.

By using therapeutic tools, we reconnect with our bodies, understanding our personal stories and the wisdom we carry. This self-study allows us to see ourselves not only as individuals but as part of a larger whole. Grounding into your body connects you to the collective rhythm, recognizing that your healing is intertwined with the healing of others. This work honours the relationship between the individual and collective bodies, nurturing both personal and shared transformation.

Your body holds wisdom. Your rhythms matter. And together, we create something greater than ourselves.

the Artwork

This artwork symbolizes the heart of Body Rhythms. A woman rises from the earth, her body rooted deeply below while reaching upward toward the spiral above.

The roots reflect grounding, self-awareness, and connection to the body. The spiral she lifts represents the cycles of life, the rhythms we all carry, and our shared connection to the collective.

It’s a visual reminder that as we root into ourselves, we also rise, held by and contributing to the greater whole. The piece speaks to the continuous flow between personal healing and collective transformation.

Hi, I’m Carolyn

Why I Do This Work

Through my personal journey and years of supporting others, I’ve witnessed the incredible power that emerges when we reconnect with the wisdom held in our bodies. It is in this connection that we find access to our truth, our resilience, and our capacity to create meaningful change, not just within ourselves, but in the world around us.

Body Rhythms was created from this belief, that individual healing and collective healing are inseparable. That when we tend to our own rhythms, we strengthen the threads that hold us together.

My work lives at the intersection of therapy, movement, and community. It is about creating spaces where people can remember what their bodies know, reclaim their voice, and move toward a sense of belonging, within themselves and in connection with others.

Outside of this work, I’m a mother, a wife, a friend, and someone who finds joy in the simple, everyday rhythms of life—reading, dancing in my kitchen, and sharing slow moments with my family. These moments ground me in why this work matters: because healing is not separate from how we live, it’s woven through the ways we show up, care for ourselves, and care for one another.

Founder of Body Rhythms a space rooted in the belief that when we come home to our bodies, we open the door to deeper connection with ourselves, with each other, and with the communities we’re part of.

My journey studying the mind-body connection began over a decade ago and led me into the mental health field, where I’ve spent the last eight years supporting individuals, families, and communities. I hold a Master of Social Work with research focused on this very intersection—how the body, mind, and community are deeply intertwined. In addition, I am a certified yoga teacher and dance meditation facilitator. Alongside formal education, my path has been shaped by years of informal learning, embodied practice, and community work, all of which continue to deepen my understanding of how we carry our stories, our resilience, and our potential for healing in both our bodies and the spaces we move through.

My POSITIONALLY

As a white woman engaged in embodiment work, I recognize the privilege I hold in both accessing and facilitating these spaces. I honour that the wisdom of the body has long been practiced, protected, and carried by communities who have been—and continue to be—oppressed. I also recognize that healing work cannot be separated from the systems, histories, and power structures that shape our individual and collective disconnection.

My commitment to this work includes ongoing reflection, accountability, and a dedication to creating spaces that are inclusive, trauma-informed, and aware of these complexities. This is lifelong work, one I carry with care, humility, and a deep respect for the lineages that came before me.

"The heart surrenders everything to the moment. The mind judges and holds back. But the body, the body is here. It’s home."
